Gold Circle Awards - CSA GC Report Card Results Dinner

The Connecticut Subcontractors Association (CSA) announced the results of the 2013 Contractor Report Card during a dinner meeting on April 8th which was held at the Hawthorne Hotel in Berlin, CT.

The top rated contractors for 2014 are Bartlett Brainard Eacott, Inc., Downes Construction Company LLC and A/Z Corporation.

As a service to the state’s subcontractors CSA created a Contractor Report Card to analyze the business practices of general contractors. Twenty-nine contractors were rated in the report card. The surveys were completed anonymously.

When announcing the results Jeff Clement CSA President from Modern Mechanical said, “CSA is pleased to provide the state’s contractors with these report cards results.  We want to provide subcontractors with the tools they need to prosper economically.  He added, “This project is another indication that CSA is looking out for the state’s subcontractors.”

Contractors were rated on ten criteria including:

• Management of the delivery of materials to the project;
• General oversight and control of the project;
• Compliance with statutory, code and inspection requirements;
• Coordination and management of work schedules;
• Management of the requisition and billing process;
• Timely payments to subcontractors;
• Knowledge and experience in performing the work;
• Change order management;
• Overall performance; and
• Close-out and final payment/retainage

The first CSA Report Card was conducted in 2011.
